Withdrawal from Exams or Continuous Assessment Courses for Important Reasons

  • Students who experience an acute health issue may withdraw from an exam or a course with continuous assessment. In such cases, they will be officially deregistered, and the withdrawal will have no negative consequences. It will be treated as though the student had not taken part in the exam or course. The aim of this regulation is to ensure that students do not suffer any disadvantage due to a temporary impairment—for example, receiving a lower grade than they would under normal circumstances. Further information can be found here.

Legal basis: Studienrechtlicher Teil der Satzung der Universität Wien, § 6 und §10

Procedure: Please inform the course instructor as early as possible about your absence for valid reasons and submit a medical certificate promptly.
